Age categories are based on the year of birth. For example, if someone is 17 years old on the day of the competition but will be 18 before the end of the year (2022) then he/she shall participate in the category of U30 (18 – 30 years old). The organisers will allow DAN competitors moving up in 2023 to compete in both their old division and new division (for Dan individual categories only) – you will need to register the player twice as two separate competitors e.g. Jane Smith 1 and Jane Smith 2– amend the date of birth of the second one so it appears in the 2023 category – pairs & teams for players moving up can only enter one (your choice of 2022 or 2023 category). Players can only enter a maximum of one pair and one team.

Most of the events will be held on a SUNDAY. You need to manage your travel and hotel bookings yourself. Before making any decision you must contact your club Instructors. Once we submit your name on the event, entry fee must be paid. Entry fee is not refundable. Note: Before we go to any competitions, Parent/Guardian must attend our briefing to understand Competition Rules.

EQUIPMENT

All athletes will be provided with a Daedo Electronic body protector and e-headguard. All athletes should bring their own Daedo socks and all other PPE/equipment. ALL ATHLETES MUST WEAR WORLD TAEKWONDO RECOGNISED PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT. This includes all uniforms and guards. A list of companies which supply WT-recognised protective equipment can be found on the WT website: www.worldtaekwondo.org All contestants will be required to proceed to the inspection desk for officials to check their uniform and protective equipment before entering the competition area. Any contestant wearing non-recognised equipment will not be permitted to compete.
